ALL CONSERVATOR�S STRETCHERS™ are now made from select grade basswood, having the characteristics of knot free soft texture for workability, light weight and clear colour, excellent dimensional stability and, perhaps most importantly, basswood is an ecologically friendly, renewable resource.

HEAVY DUTY
The HEAVY DUTY CONSERVATOR'S STRETCHER™ is a heavy duty system recommended for paintings of any size with the appropriate cross bracing. Dimensional configurations of the PROFESSIONAL, SELECT and HEAVY DUTY are optimized to provide maximum structural stability and support while eliminating the problems of excessive bulk and weight. The rebate on the reverse allows for the insertion of a protective backing. This backing is critical in enhancing the longevity of a work of art by acting as a barrier or buffer to reduce the effects of cycling climactic changes and atmospheric pollutants, as well as substantially reducing the risk of mechanical damages caused by mishandling.
Longer lengths can be designed to be folded for ease of transport of the stretched painting.
